Agenda

  • Make sure all the details are taken care of for the Cook County Green Party convention Feb. 23.
  • Discuss and hopefully approve participation in the coalition organizing anti-Iraq war protests March 19 and 20.
  • Discuss and hopefully approve organizing a speaking event for Cliff Thornton in Chicago in March.

Craig gave a quick report on where we are at with planning the convention and notifying membership.

Proposed Agenda

~12:15pm Introduction of the CCGP

Craig Brozefsky will provide an introduction to the CCGP and its goals, as well as the process which got us to this convention.

12:45pm CCGP Business

  • Officer Nomination and Election
    • Chair
    • Treasurer
    • Secretary

Please think about this topic before-hand, and consult any potential nominees before the meeting, so that this step can go smoothly.

1:30pm Candidate Presentations

We will have a professional looking environment with backdrop and podium for candidates to make a 3-5 minute presentation to the membership. This is an opportunity to recruit volunteers to their campaign and introduce themselves to members. We will also arrange for a videographer to record the presentations, for candidates to use later, and to publish on the CCGP site.

The press will be invited as well.

3:00pm Introduction to 2008 National Convention Planning

Someone from the ILGP committee for organizing the convention will give a presentation on the convention plan, planning schedule, and resource requirements. They will have an oppurtunity to collect contact information and answer questions from potential volunteers.

Action Items

Craig is responsible for contacting someone from ILGP convention organization committee to make a 10-15 minute presentation.

Jeremy will help with backdrop

Craig will put Together Information Packet (bylaws, candidate sheet and contact info) for all attendees

Craig and Walter will research setting up a voicemail service for volunteer and press contacts Craig will set up an email alias, help@cookcountygreens.org to accept incoming volunteer queries

Craig and Jan (others are welcome as well) will bake cookies as refreshments Jack and Walter are providing coffee

Jack will contact candidates and invite them to the convention, with list provided by Phil Jack will contact Alberto Bocanegro, who has contact with a videographer, to videotape candidate presentations Jack will contact Mr. Mataka to see if he can videotape candidate also.
